Daniel Barcant

From a young age Daniel has been a working man, the early days of coaching the T&T national sailing team after school hours and building boat hulls. After high school he moved to Europe where lived for four years working for a successful London firm in the tech-music industry. He then took a few months off to travel before moving back to Trinidad in late 2007.

In 2008 he started a company PSI Services from very humble beginnings. Dedication and an attention to detail has allowed this business to become one of the nations leading maintenance companies in a short time. His passion for business and supplying niche markets has seen him co:start two other successful companies falling within the maintenance umbrella.

Daniel loves working with people and is a natural leader. He is a cofounder of a non profit called IAMovement – who’s goal is to instill positive social change in T&T; ranging from a program for under privileged children, pushing the conversation of innovative solutions locally, regarding energy, waste & transport

His passion for raising positive awareness is tied closely to a vision for social entrepreneurship, and encourages Trinidad & Tobago to diversify into its many other under-utilised resources in a sustainable fashion. He’d also like to use Cocoa Republic as an avenue to help educate the smaller farmers on proper post harvest techniques and innovative equipment improvements so that they can fetch a better rate for a better quality cocoa bean. Raising the bar again of quality on the world market for T&T cocoa and chocolate.

Daniel spends much time in the field and is constantly searching for rare extra fine flavour material. He also plans to set up permaculture based farms tied in with the cocoa cultivation. Promoting healthy eco systems, educating people through practice and growing quality food.

Daniel is a nature lover and an avid kitesurfer. This year he intends to be the first person ever to kitesurf from Tobago to Trinidad.
